The figures were provided by Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in reply to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 2302, answered on August 03, 2026, regarding the issuance of Kisan Credit Cards.

JK recorded an increase of 50,603 operative KCC accounts over the three-year period, with the number rising from 10,66,887 in 2023-24 to 11,13,136 in 2024-25 and further to 11,17,490 in 2025-26. Ladakh, however, saw a marginal decline from 28,228 accounts in 2023-24 to 28,134 in 2024-25 and 28,005 in 2025-26.

At the national level, the number of operative KCC accounts declined from 7,75,04,234 in 2023-24 to 7,72,10,538 in 2024-25 and 7,28,27,884 in 2025-26. Thus, while JK recorded growth over the period, the national total fell by nearly 47 lakh operative accounts.

The data shows that JK accounted for around 1.5 per cent of the country’s operative KCC accounts in 2025-26, while Ladakh’s share was less than 0.04 per cent.

Responding to questions on whether the Government had fixed a target percentage for KCC issuance and the saturation level, Chaudhary said KCC is a demand-driven scheme. It provides timely and affordable credit through the banking system to all eligible farmers engaged in agriculture and allied activities to meet their working capital and investment credit requirements.

The Government stated that the credit limit for eligible farmers is determined on the basis of the scale of finance, area under cultivation, cropping pattern and related requirements.

As reported by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and NABARD, the total number of operative KCC accounts across the country stood at 7.28 crore as on March 31, 2026, with an outstanding amount of Rs 10.08 lakh crore.
