POONCH, May 17: Sampark Economical Development Society organized an Inter-School Symposium Competition on the theme “Voices of LoC: Stories, Struggles and Realities” at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Mendhar in Mendhar, District Poonch. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various schools of Sub-Division Mendhar and aimed to provide a platform for young minds to express their views on the lives, struggles, sacrifices and realities faced by people living near the Line of Control (LoC). The symposium also served as an opportunity for students to showcase their public speaking and communication skills.
The event was attended by Imran Rashid Kataria, SDM Mendhar, as the Chief Guest, while Muhammad Latief Choudhary attended as the Guest of Honour. The programme was hosted by Saleem Hussain Shah. Addressing the gathering, Imran Rashid Kataria appreciated the efforts of the Society in encouraging youth participation in meaningful discussions related to national and social issues.
He urged students to become responsible citizens and continue contributing positively towards society through constructive dialogue and awareness. He also praised the confidence, awareness and presentation skills displayed by the participating students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Kaima Shah, who expressed gratitude to the guests, school authorities and participants for their support and cooperation in making the event successful. Among others present on the occasion were Dr. Sirfaz Ahmed, Dr. Sarshad Hussain, Mohd. Rashid Shabnam and Adv. Nazir Hussain Choudhary.
A prize distribution ceremony was also held in which Riswana Choudhary of Government Model HSS Girls Mendhar secured the first prize, followed by Roheena Anjum of Government HSS Dhargloon in second place, Mohd Hamza of Government HSS Chhatral in third place, Mohd. Safian of Government HSS Boys Mendhar in fourth place and Ujma Choudhary of Government HSS Dhargloon in fifth place.
