BANI, Jul 16: Government Degree College (GDC) Bani on Thursday organised an Induction Programme for the newly admitted Semester-I students under the guidance and patronage of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Neena Gupta. The programme aimed to welcome the fresh entrants and familiarise them with the academic environment, institutional values, and opportunities available at the college.
On the occasion, the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Neena Gupta, formally welcomed the students and addressed the gathering. She encouraged the students to make the most of their college life by remaining disciplined, committed to academics, and actively participating in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. She urged them to uphold the values of integrity, responsibility, and respect, while striving to become enlightened individuals and responsible citizens.
The induction programme featured an interactive session wherein members of the teaching faculty introduced themselves and acquainted the students with their respective subjects, course structure, career opportunities, and the vibrant academic culture of the institution.
The faculty also guided the students on the transition from school to college, highlighting the importance of punctuality, regular attendance, ethical conduct, effective communication, and active participation in campus life. Students were also briefed about the various clubs, committees, and student-centric activities conducted throughout the academic session.
The programme witnessed participation from the faculty members, including, Prof. Naseeb Kumar Bhagat (Environmental Science), Dr. J.S Soodan (Physical Director), Dr. Narinder Kumar(Dogri) Dr. Resham Singh (Punjabi), Dr. Sunil Kumar (Urdu), Dr. Reeha Sharma (Education), Dr. Sartaj Aziz (Zoology), Dr. Sayeed Ahmed (Chemistry), Prof. Vishab Thappa (English), Dr. Nisha Devi(Hindi) Prof. Rajneesh Kumar (Sociology), Prof. Firdos Bhat (Political Science), Dr. Mulkh Raj (Education).
The programme was efficiently organised and coordinated by Dr. J. S. Soodan and Prof. Vishab Thappa (English) , who ensured the smooth conduct of the event and also compered the proceedings. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where students enthusiastically engaged with the faculty and sought guidance regarding academics, campus life, and future opportunities.
The induction programme concluded on a positive note, instilling confidence and enthusiasm among the newly admitted students as they embark upon a new phase of their academic journey at Government Degree College Bani.
