SRINAGAR, May 10 (Agencies): Blasts were reported in multiple areas across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, just hours after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire agreement. The incidents triggered panic among residents.
Reacting to the developments, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah posted on X, “What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!” The comment reflected his frustration over the situation unfolding so soon after the announcement of the agreement.
The blasts disrupted the sense of relief felt by people across the region who had welcomed the ceasefire earlier in the day.
Agency reported that Pakistan Army resorted to artillery shelling along the International Border in Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura sectors. Ceasefire violations were also reported along the LoC in the Palanwalla sector of Jammu.
