UDA pleads to Advisor Farooq Khan for online issuance of I-cards for Universal Health Insurance Scheme

JAMMU,Aug 2: A delegation of United Democratic Alliance led by its Co-Convener,Vijay Sharma who is also the Chairman of Team Mask Force and President JKExcise State Taxes Employees Welfare Society & Allied Association called onAdvisor Farooq Khan Sahib at his residence and expressed gratitude forUniversal Health Insurance Scheme under Ayushman Bharat Yojana, covering morethan 1.25 crores residents of the J&K Union Territory.Thedelegation was accompanied by UDA Co-Conveners Ravi Tikko, President J&KSports Speed Ball Sports Association and V.K Gupta (SE Retd).Sharmarecalled that JK Excise State Taxes Employees Welfare Society had taken theissue of universal health insurance for employees and pensioners of J&K UTwith Advisor Khan who with his visionary approach got approval from the J&KState Administrative Council for the welfare of residents of the UnionTerritory. “Thebeneficiaries of the scheme shall be entitled to free health insurance cover ofRs Five lakh per family per year on a floater basis and there is no restrictionon family size, age or gender. All pre-existing illnesses will be covered andcashless services will also be available in all the empanelled hospitals,”Sharma added.Sharma,while expressing his gratitude on behalf of the Alliance, requested AdvisorKhan that after the go ahead signal from the Chief Secretary, theIdentification Card for Universal Health Insurance should be issued online sothat people of J&K UT would be able to get the benefit of this schemewithout any further delay amid COVID-19 pandemic. UDAmembers have raised this issue in one voice as the same pertains to the interestof Jammuites for which UDA has been Constituted with a high think tank of variousideologies.
