JAMMU, Dec 29: Pressing for their long pending demand of relapsing COLA and Pay Commission arrears, All J&K RTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association held a protest at Hari Singh Park, here on Friday.
A demonstration was under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali President of VRS Union Jammu. Bali strongly criticized behaviour of Finance Department and the UT Government of Jammu & Kashmir towards them as they are bent upon to linger their long pending arrears of COLA, Sixth Pay Commissioner and DA.
“We are struggling for the same for the last more than 12 years and in this long struggle 55 employees from Jammu province have breathed their last as they could not afford proper medical treatment due to paucity of finance,” he said appealed to the Central Govt to personally take the cognizance of their long pending legitimate demands and send a package especially for the retired employees of JKRTC, Jammu as they have already suffered a lot and are still struggling for the same.
They demanded release of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) arrears from June, 1999 to December 31. 2005; 6th Pay Commission Arrears from January 1, 2006 to March, 2012; and DA arrears from April, 2012 to March, 2021.
The demonstration was attended by Sat Bhushan Singh, Surinder Singh, Prem Nath, G.S Tohra, P.P Singh, Rajinder Sawhney, Suraj Singh and others.
