Parents Association starts hunger strike

JAMMU, Jun 29: All Parents Association Jammu is sitting on indefinite hunger strike from today onwards at exhibition ground in support of their demands regarding organised loot of private schools.
Private schools are openly violating the orders of Education Department despite many media channels on live coverage has exposed the open loot of private schools but all going in vain, they said.
Protesters added that the private schools are forcing, harassing, pressurizing and emotionally blackmailing parents to submit the school fees other then tuition fees also and are also forcing parents to buy books from there blue eyed book vendors.
They further said that when state like Uttarakhand, Himachal and Punjab, Chennai can waive off the school fees for the lockdown period then why our administration of JKUT cannot waive off the school fees.
Amit Kapoor appealed parents to do not pay any kind of school fees and do not buy any school books yet.
They demanded implementation of Right to Education Act at the earliest, waive off the fees during COVID-19 pandemic period, waive off the annual charges for the current academic year, prescribed CBSE and JKBOSE books only, etc.
