Pakistan Army violates ceasefire for sixth consecutive day; Indian Army responds appropriately

SRINAGAR, Apr 30 (Agencies): The Pakistan Army has violated the ceasefire agreement yet again, initiating unprovoked small-arms firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir for the sixth consecutive day, army officials said.

According to official sources, during the night of April 29-30, Pakistani posts opened unprovoked fire across the LoC opposite the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors in the Union Territory. The Indian Army responded swiftly and proportionately to the provocation.

Further reports confirmed that similar incidents of unprovoked small-arms fire were recorded from Pakistani positions across the LoC in Baramulla and Kupwara districts. Additionally, firing was reported across the International Border (IB) in the Pargwal Sector.

“The Indian Army troops responded swiftly and appropriately,” officials added.
