JAMMU, Apr 18: COVID-19 Pandemic knows no boundaries of religions, regions, community, ideology etc. and hence we should get unite in this hour of crisis to combat this deadly corona virus. It was stated by Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta today.
Rs. 11,111 from Councillor Sobat Ali of Ward No 74 Sunjwan area and Rs. 21,000 from Varun Sharma Fruit Merchant of Fruit Mandi Narwal handed over in the form of cheques to Mayor towards PM-CARES Fund in presence of Adv. Nidhi Magotra Councillor of Ward No 17, Amphalla, Narian Singh Senior Leader of BJP/ and Rohit Gupta of Ward No 17.
Speaking on the occasion Mayor said that entire mankind is in distress due to coronavirus pandemic and countless needy people are facing hardships due to lack of essential items like Ration, Medicines etc. in this time of distress. Central Government along with J&K Administration are taking all necessary steps to meet the challenge and people should strengthen the hands of Prime Minister of India in meeting the requirements of needy population by donating liberally towards PM-CARES Fund.
He expressed gratitude to all the Councilors of JMC and common masses who have come forward to donate for this Noble Cause and also appeal to all other capable persons to take care of needy population in their vicinity.
Expressing concern over the Corona Virus Pandemic, Mayor said that in these testing times, people need to cooperate with the Administration and should stay at homes as maximum as possible, follow the guidelines of the Government issued time to time as without Co-operation of Citizen, it would be hard to achieve desired results besides making J&K free from COVID-19.
