LG Mathur convenes series of meetings with PSUs & Consultancy Companies in New Delhi

LEH, May 30: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R.K Mathur convened a series of meeting with NHPC, WAPCOS and Ernst & Young in New Delhi yesterday.
In a meeting with the CMD, NHPC Abhay Kumar Singh, The current status of the existing projects and execution of new projects, solar and hydal sectors were discussed.
The Lt Governor exhorted on exploring possibilities to tap in maximum hydropower and solar power generation in Ladakh. He said that power sector both in terms of hydro and solar could be a good source of revenue generation for UT Ladakh.
WAPCOS is a central public sector unit and the company has been working in Ladakh since past many years. Lt. Governor had a meeting with the CMD, WAPCOS, R.K Gupta and discussed the progress of projects undertaken by WAPCOS in Ladakh.
The Lt Governor urged the Company to expedite the ongoing projects. He also requested them to take up drinking water, irrigation, space heating like projects for every habitation in Ladakh under Jal Shakti scheme.
The Lt Governor also chaired a meeting with the officials of Ernst & Young and representatives of Niti Ayog.
Advisor Umang Narula was also present in the meeting. Various issues pertaining to Ladakh and the work assigned to Ernst & Young and way forward were discussed at length. The areas included the development of Vision 2050 for Ladakh and PPP modelling of projects in various sectors.
