JAMMU, July 12: Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF), an amalgam of various social and other organizations of Jammu Province, in a press conference held here on Friday extended full support and cooperation for satellite Duggar channel for Jammu Province.
M S Katoch, the working President of the Forum while addressing press conference, told reporters that a deputation of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) comprises of J.S Babli, President, Janak Khajuria, and Madan Rangeela met the executive members of JPPF and apprised them about the need of an independent satellite Duggar channel for Jammu Province, further in order to promote and preserve Dogri they also highlighted various points.
“A threadbare discussion was held on the issue and it was unanimously resolved by the members of the JPPF that Dogra culture is not only confined to Jammu but parts of adjoining states i.e Punjab, Himachal are also practicing the same culture and language, therefore our organization would fight tooth and nail to resolve this long pending demand of Dogras,” Katoch said.
Further a deputation of JPPF along with Members of DADAA met J.P Nadda President BJP, Union Minister for Health and Family welfare, and apprised him about the genuine demand of Dogra artists, he patiently heard the issue and assured to take up this matter with the concerned ministry, Katoch said.
The members of JPPF appealed the Govt. to look into the matter and establish independent satellite channel for Dogras of Jammu Province as soon as possible.
“It will not only help in promoting Dogra culture and language but will also boost up the moral of Dogras and will go a long way to safeguard the interest of this community who has sacrificed a lot for the country and have enough to project and inspire the masses with its rich history,” they said.
JPPF members appreciated the efforts of DADAA for highlighting this issue among the masses by organising a signature campaign and other activities.
JPPF members assured DADAA members full support and cooperation in future too.
