JKFFA pays tributes to former PM Rajiv Gandhi on his 29th death anniversary

JAMMU, May 21: J&K Freedom Fighter Association paid tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 29th death anniversary here on Thursday abiding by the lockdown norms.
On this day, twenty-nine years back, former Prime Minister and stalwart Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated during an election campaign in 1991.
In this connection, a programme was organized at Dogra Shaurya Sthal, Ambhalla by Ved Gandotra, Chairman of the Association in which Rajiv Mahajan Vice Chairman, R.C Puri President, Karnail Chand General Secretary, Pritam Sharma Vice President and others were present.
Candles were lit in the memory of the great leader and floral tributes were paid to him, with garlanding with showers of the petals.
Ved Gandotra highlighted the deeds of the Rajiv Gandhi, whose sacrifices will continue to lead the Nation at the path of peace, harmony and development. He said the Nation has lost a tallest leader of the world in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.
Rajiv Mahajan, Vice Chairman in his address, said described Rajiv Gandhi as a great visionary leader who was devoted to the cause of upliftment of poor and weaker section and strengthened the secular values in the country. “The best way to pay homage to departed leader was to follow his footsteps and work for unity, harmony and development of the Country as Rajiv Gandhi even offered his life, but did not compromise on his commitment and conviction,” they said.
RC Puri, President said Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of modern India under whose leadership the Nation touched the new heights in computer science, economy and overall development of the people from grass roots levels.
