Jammu Police helps patient to get medicine from Mcleodganj

JAMMU, May 7 (Agencies): Setting an example of professional policing, Jammu Police managed to get a life saving drug for a woman patient undergoing a treatment by procuring medicines from Mcleodganj in neighbouring Himachal Pradesh.

Nodal Officer for “We Care For You” programme initiated by Jammu Police, Raghubir Choudhary here said, “a man from Greater Kailash area of Kunjwani on Tuesday dashed a message to the SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil requesting for medicine for his wife suffering from chronic disease from Dr Dolma Clinic, Maclodganj.”

He also messaged the picture of the medical prescription with complete details and address.

Choudhary said that the SSP Jammu without wasting time responded to the message as the medicine stock available with the needy was ending on May 9, and directed him to act swiftly following which the concerned police officer in Mcleodganj was contacted for further action.

“The police officer in Mcleodganj after procuring the medicine, transported it to the Pathankot Police and thereafter to In-charge Police Post Nagri, Sub-Inspector Sandeep Singh Charak,” the Nodal Officer said.

He added that the cop on Thursday managed further transportation of the medicine on urgent basis, which was handed over to the aggrieved family, G L Sandhu and wife Sudesh Sandhu, residents of Ambica Colony, Lane No 2, Bye Pass Kunjwani, Gangyal, Jammu.
