FFMA pays tributes to Chander Shekhar Azad

JAMMU, Feb 27: To remember Martyr Chander Shekhar Azad, the Freedom Fighters Memorial Association (J&K) Jammu held a function on his death anniversary at Dogra Shaurya Sthal, Ambphalla, here on Thursday.
The function was organised by Chairman Ved Gandotra and Vice Chairman Rajiv Mahajan, former MLC, Vibodh Gupta was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Floral tributes were paid with showers of petals on his photograph, by all the members chanting of National Anthem.
Two-minute silence was observed in the honour of the great freedom fighter.
The members highlighted the bravery of national hero Chander Shekhar Azad, who also turned the meaning of the freedom struggle. Chander Shekhar laid his life, while fighting the British Police.
The members also remembered Netaji Subash Chander Bose, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru, Maharani Laxmi Bai, Mangal Pandey, Hav Abdul Hameed and all those known and un-known freedom fighters who scarified everything to the Nation.
The members appealed to the leaders of today, the Govt servants, the bureaucrats to work with honesty and zeal so that the dreams of the martyrs of prosperous and happy India may be made true.
Speaking on the occasion Vibodh Gupta recited Azad’s famous proclamation, ‘Dushman Ki Goliyon Ka Saamna Hum Karenge, Azad Hi Rahe Hain, aur Azad hi Rahenge’ and said,” Azad shook the British empire when he was just sixteen by revealing his name as ‘Azad’, his father’s name ‘Swatantrata’ and his residence as the prison cell.” He further said that Azad’s passion for freedom inspired youth.
Showing his concern over the communal riots in Delhi, Gupta said that cold blood murder of martyred policeman HC Ratan Lal and IB officer Ankit Sharma by anti-CAA protesters is not tolerable.
He also extended his support and sympathy to all the victims and their families.
The prominent among those who spoke on the occasion were R.C Puri President of Association, Th. Karnail Chand Genral Secretary of Association, Pritam Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Brij Mehra, RR Raina, Vice Presidents of Association, Dr Karan Gupta Advisor of Association, Dr RP Sharma, Prof. SS Bhalwal, Satpal Sharma, Parshotam Kumar, Anil Sharma, Anil Sharma, Vikas Dewan, and President Bharat Raksha Manch Dr YP Padha.
