JAMMU, Nov 12: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer on Friday felicitated the Players of Speed Ball here at Jammu.
Sunny Nanda India’s top seed solo player from J&K broke asian record of Solo in 32nd World Championship At Tunisia With 460 Shots In 4 Minutes.
This was the first time that a player from India hits more than 450 Shots. With 460 Shots Sunny Nanda Ranks 4th In The World Ranking. Just 15 Shots Behind From The Broze Medal Winner From Poland Who Hits 475 Shots.& Also Tunisia Ranks 2nd With 520 Shots And Egypt Ranks 1st With 605 Shots.
A Total of 12 Countries participated In this World Championship. In Doubles Event Indian Team of Sunny Nanda & Gurmanjeet Singh Secured 4th Rank In the overall Tally. Harshdeep Singh a student from Banyan International School Rank 5th In The Junior Singles Event.
Dr Raghav Langer (Div Com, Patron Of Association), A.K Attri Ips ( Sr.Vice President JKSBA), Tarun Uppal (President JSBA), Kanwarjit Singh Retird Officer (Member JKSBA); Pawan Kumar ( Event Secretary JKSBA); All The Association Members were the voluntary guests on this ocassion.
The J&K Sports Speedball Association appreciated the performances of their player and motivated them to do well in the next world championship which was decided to be held at USA next year in August.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr Raghav Langer (Patron of association) said that in the forthcoming world games to be held at USA.
The Sports Department would provide all the help in promoting the game of speed ball to its highest pinnacle. He Congrualted the association and the players for their achievement & said secured 4th rank in the world championship is not being an easy task & said to players that he want to see the Indian Flag in podium next year at USA.
