CME on ‘Management of Acute Pain Abdomen and Abdominal Trauma’

JAMMU, Jan 24: Civil and Military medical fraternity came together to conduct CME on practical approach to diagnosis and management of acute pain abdomen and abdominal trauma organized by 426 Field Hospital under the aegis of “Tiger Division”.
Few medical problems offer greater difficulties than early, accurate diagnosis and correct treatment of acute pain abdomen especially in field conditions and pose challenge to young medical officers. Collaboration for the said CME was done with doctors from Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu.
The CME was chaired by Dr Kulbhushan Gupta, Professor, Radio diagnosis, Government Medical College (GMC), and Jammu.
Besides the speakers from “Tiger Division” field hospitals, Dr Vikrant Singh Chandail, MS (General Surgery), DNB (Surgical gastroenterology), Professor, GMC, Jammu highlighted the important aspects in the Diagnosis and Management of acute pain abdomen including abdominal trauma and Major Ajay Kumar, Medical Specialist 166 Military Hospital spoke on the topic of medical aspects of acute abdomen. Thirty medical officers attended the CME.
Major General Sharad Kapur, General Officer Commanding, “Tiger Division” congratulated the speakers on successful completion of CME and expressed desire to continue medical education in future especially on topics relevant to field Army environment.
