Army honours brave hearts

SRINAGAR, Feb 18 (Agencies): Army posthumously honoured four brave hearts who laid their lives while eliminating the mastermind of Lethpora IED blast that killed over 40 CRPF personnel last year.
The four soldiers who were honoured for this act of Valor are: Maj VIBHUTI SHANKAR DHOUNDIYAL was posthumously awarded Shaurya Chakra, Sepoy Hari Singh was posthumously awarded Shaurya Chakra, Havalidar Sheoram was posthumously awarded Sena Medal and sepoy Ajay Kumar was posthumously awarded Sena Medal.
It may be called that on 18th February last year, operation Pinglana was carried out. A cordon and search was conducted to eliminate the mastermind of the IED attack on CRPF convoy.’During the fierce gunfight that ensued the Brave Hearts fought valiantly with utter disregard to their personal safety avenging the dreadful IED attack in the span of 90 hours,”.
Despite being injured, the four Brave Hearts continued to fight and eliminated the terrorists, “Thus making supreme sacrifice in the true traditions of Indian army,”.
