JAMMU, May 27: In a meeting held with the members of the Jammu Province People`s Forum (JPPF), a crucial issue of youth with regard to employment was discussed threadbare.
The members of the forum welcome the step of Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to advertise nearly 10000 post for the youth of UT of J&K but the members of the forum told that the recruitment should be made on regular basis and not under SRO 202.
As the SRO 202 is discriminatory in nature and does not provide the due share for which the youth are entitled.
Therefore forum demanded that SRO 202 should be revoked and no recruitment should be made as it is a sheer humiliation to the youth.
Further it was retreated that if we discuss the financial part of the candidate selected under SRO 202, it is just half of the remuneration of the candidate selected under regular mode.
The JPPF is of the opinion that when the people selected under SRO 202 has to perform the same job profile as in the case of candidates selected under regular mode then why a candidate is given less salary. Moreover SRO 202 is an old document and should not be made alive in the newly formed Union Territory of J&K and it should be made ineffective immediately.
“We request Lt Governor G C Murmu to look into the matter personally so as to not to deprive the youth of J&K from the opportunities available for none of their fault,” they said.
JPPF also told that several deputations of unemployed youth met us in the said connection and that is why the matter was taken up in the forum. The matter may pleased be treated on urgent basis in order to stop the exploitation of youth of J&K.
The members who discussed the matter were Pavitar Singh, M S Katoch, Avinash Bhatia, Inderjeet Khajuria, M L Sharma, Resham Singh, Surender Vir, Charanjit Kumar, Gurmit Singh, Rajeev Mahajan, Pritam Sharma, Sunita Sharma, Madan Sharma, Kuldeep Singh Katoch and R R Sharma.
