A woman among five held with narcotics in Jammu & Kupwara

JAMMU, Jun 6 : The police has arrested five persons, including a woman, and recovered 10 kgs of Cannabis and other narcotics from them in Jammu and Kupwara districts of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir.
Two persons , arrested from Rajiv nagar here today, have been identified as Dharvinder Kumar of Bihar and Raj Kumar of Chhatisgarh, police said, adding that ten Kilograms of cannabis were recovered from them.
The accused are beeing questioned and some more arrests and recoveries are expected based on their disclosure , they said.
In another incident, police also arrested a man identified as Yasir Hussain, a resident of Bhatindi area of the city , with ten grams of heroin yesterday.
The accused was arrested from Suketar area in Jhajjar Kotli ,on the outskirts of Jammu city, police said and added that all the three peddlers have been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Reports from Kupwar district in north Kashmir said that a lady peddler identified as Razia Begum alias Bulbul, wife of Zakir Hussain Shah and her acquaintance Aftab Ahmed Shah son of late Altaf Ahmed Shah have been arrested along with narcotics.
Both of them are the residents Takiya Bahadurkote area in Karnah tehsil of Kupwara district, police said, adding the due was apprehended with heroin like susbtances weighing 35 grams and 43 grams respectively .
A case under NDPS Act has been registered against them in police station at Karnah, they said.
