POONCH, Jun 23: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukti Abhiyan, the Indian Army conducted an awareness programme at Hilla Mohalla, Salotri, aimed at sensitising local residents and youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The event witnessed active participation from villagers, students and young members of the community. During the programme, lectures were delivered to highlight the physical, mental, social and economic consequences of substance abuse. Participants were also educated on the importance of early prevention, peer support, positive lifestyle choices and community vigilance in keeping society free from drugs.
Counselling sessions were organised to encourage open discussion and guide youth towards constructive activities, discipline and healthy living. An anti-drug pledge was administered, wherein participants collectively resolved to stay away from drugs and spread awareness among others. Sankalp Forms were also submitted, symbolising individual and community commitment towards the campaign.
The initiative reinforced the Indian Army’s continued efforts to support society, guide youth and promote a healthier, safer and drug-free future.
