JAMMU, May 9: An emergency meeting of the executive committee of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu was called by Sh. Shiv Partap Gupta, Election President to apprise members about verbal directions issued by Divisional Commissioner with regard to conduct of 11th May Election. It was further told that Divisional Commissioner’s office has written to the President that it is not advisable to hold election in view of the prevailing situation on the border. Keeping in view yesterday night drone and missiles attack on Jammu by Pakistan and directions from Divisional Commissioner, the Executive Committee decided with majority opinion to defer the holding of election till normalcy is restored.
The election president announced that present team of office bearers shall continue to function till elections are again decided by the executive committee. The Executive Committee with majority opinion approved the announcement of the Election President.
