SRINAGAR, Dec 1 (Agencies): Continuing its relentless efforts to curb the menace of drugs, Police in Srinagar have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A Spokesperson said that Police at a checkpoint established at Barthana, a vehicle (Alto) bearing registration number JK01J 7081 was intercepted with two persons on board. They have been identified Arif Ahmad Sheikh son of Lateef Ahmad Sheikh resident of Barthana Qamarwari and Asif Ahmad Sheikh son of Ab Razaq Sheikh resident of Babapora Barthana. During search, 628 grams of Charas and 650 grams of Cannabis Powder were recovered from their possession. Subsequently, they have been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 136/2024 has been registered at PS Parimpora and investigation has been initiated”, he said.
