NDS felicitates Prof. BS Bali on its foundation day

JAMMU, Dec 29: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) celebrated its 26th Foundation Day. Prof. B.S Bali, renowned Classical Maestro and former Principal Institute of Music and Fine Arts Jammu was honoured and conferred with Sanstha Samaan “Sangeet Kalashree Nipun” .
Prof. K.L Bhatia, former HOD Law Department Jammu University was Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Padma Shri Jatinder Udhampuri, Sahitya Academy Awardee and Ex- Director All India Radio presided over the function. A.Q Manhas Ex-Inspector General of Police was Special Guest and Prof. Nirmal Vinod renowned Hindi and Dogri Writer and Sahitya Academy Awardee participated as Guests of Honour. Rakesh Sharma HOD Fine Arts Jammu was Special Invitee .
Prof. Anupama Sharma Patron NDS and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila President NDS shared the dias.
At the very outset guests were welcomed with flower bouquets and sweets were distributed to mark the 26th Foundation Day of NDS. Son of the Soil, Prof. B.S Bali Ex-Principal Institute of Music & Fine Arts, renowned Classical Mastaero and celebrated teacher was conferred with Sanstha Award “Sangeet Kalashri Nipun” and presented with memento, Shawl and Citation for his long outstanding contributions in the field of Music .
Capt. Lalit Sharma Convener NDS read a Crisp Paper on the life and works of Prof. B.S.Bali and said that NDS has emerged as a movement to propagate Dogri Language and Duggar Culture which has strived all along its journey of 26 years to inculcate pride in Dogras towards Dogri Language and Duggar Culture and made efforts to unite the Dogras through the medium of Art and Culture.
Prof. Bhatia lauded the role and continuous efforts of NDS for the cause of Dogri. He said that the unity of our country lies in her diversity and therefore, there is need to strengthen our diverse cultures and observed that NDS is playing its positive role in this direction.
Jatinder Udhampuri said that the Duggar History is old and rich in all its dimensions viz Social, Cultural, Military or spiritual and Dogras have reasons to be proud of their rich heritage .
A.Q.Manhas said that secular credentials of Duggar have stood test of the time and the societies have lot to learn from this . He appreciated the literary endeavours of NDS .
Prof Nirmal Vinod while lauding the NDS said that NDS should focuss on connecting our youth and children towards Dogri and rich Duggar Culture to infuse a sense of pride in them.
Prof. Rakesh Sharma said that fine arts brighten our outlook and soothen our faculties to make us meaningful and proud citizens .
Prof. Anupama Sharma that NDS is looking forward to use music as a meaningfultool to popularise Dogri especially with our younger generations as music is a strong medium to boost and popularise any language. Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila reiterated the resolve of NDS to proudly connect our children with Dogri and Duggar heritage .
