Adv Vikram Sharma is new President J&K HC Bar Association

JAMMU, Feb 26: Winning the election J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu with a margin of 275 votes, Advocate Vikram Sharma has been declared as President while Advocate Amit Gupta has been elected as Vice President, Advocate Parvesh Singh Salaria as General Secretary, Advocate Chetan Misri as Joint Secretary and Advocate Utkarsh Pathania as Treasurer.
For the post of President, Nirmal Kotwal secured 517 votes, Sachin Gupta got 415 votes, Surinder Kour got 165 votes while Vikram Sharma 792 votes and declared as winner.
For the post of Vice President Amit Gupta got 798 votes and declared as winner, Jasvinder Singh (Jassi) secured 362 votes and Monish Chopra got 725 votes.
Parvesh Singh Salaria secured 1200 votes and elected as General Secretary while Ajay Bakshi got 686 votes.
For the post of Joint Secretary, Chetan Misri got 1319 votes and declared as winner while Shiv Dev Thakur secured 570 votes.
Out of four candidates for the post of Treasurer, Gaurav Arora got 406 votes , Suhail Bharti secured 465 votes, Vikram Singh Sohil 449 votes and Utkarsh Pathania 561 votes and declared as winner. Much awaited elections of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association held today at High Court Complex in Janipur. As per the Returning Officer, out of 2193 votes, 1889 votes were casted. The voting started at 10 AM and continued upto 5 PM. The counting started at 6:00PM and ended late Saturday night.
