Drug Peddler held in North Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Jan 22 (Agencies): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said that it has arrested a drug peddler alongwith 104 grams of Charas & 1800 grams of Charas Powder like substance at Gundbal Palhallan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said that during naka checking at Gundbal Palhallan, Police under the supervision of Inspr. Sarjan Ahmad, SHO PS Pattan assisted by PSI Aeraf Niyaz, IC PP Palhallan* witnessed a suspicious person coming from Naidkhai towards Hamrey, upon noticing the police party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. During his personal search 104 grams Charas & 1800 grams of Charas Powder like substance was recovered and was immediately seized.
“The drug peddler who was identified as Bakhtiyar Ahmad Bhat S/O Mohd Sultan Bhat R/O Buchoo Palhallan, District Baramulla was taken into custody”, he said.
He said that case under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation set in motion.
