DGGI raids Hyderabad based construction company in J&K to unearth bogus billing

JAMMU, Dec 2: It has been informed by the confirmed sources that a premises located in Jammu and Reasi of a Hyderabad based construction company M/s Vensar Construction Company Ltd who are engaged in making important tunnels on Katra Banihal Rail Link in Reasi district were searched by the teams of Directorate General of Goods and Service Tax Intelligence (DGGI), Jammu which started in the morning of 30.11.2022 and continued till 01.12.2022.
As per information available, huge evasion of GST has been detected as the Company was found in procuring fake bills of Cement, Iron and Steel without receipt of any such goods to evade GST and divert money.
More than 15 bogus suppliers were identified and raids were carried by the DGGI officers in Delhi NCR also and these suppliers were found non–existent and fake.
The bogus firms have shown transportation of Cement weighing 50 to 60 tonnes (1000 bags to 1200 bags) from Delhi to Khanikot and Dugga in cars and small vehicles.
The involvement of management of the company in the fraud is under scanner of the investigating agency and possibility of diversion of funds and money laundering is not ruled out.
