JAMMU, Sep 26: The famous Vaishno Devi Temple enveloped today in flowers ahead of the Navratra festival in Katra area of Jammu and Kashmir.
The whole temple has been illuminated beautifully as the preparations ahead of the festival are in full swing .
Several devotees were seen making their way to the temple amid the festive vibes. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees for the big festival.
Shri Mata Devi Shrine Board has also made many arrangements for Navratra celebrations at the temple, where thousands of devotees from across the Country visit to pay their obeisance.
Devotees from across the country reached Katra town in large numbers to start their journey to the holy shrine on the first Navratra.
J&K Shiv Sena Bal Thakrey, which took a Charri yatra to Shrine at katra yesterday, hailed authorities today for the arrangements made for the Navratra festival .
Meanwhile, Padma Shri Awardee Professor Vishwa Murti Shastri Ji said that Navratri is of two types -Vasantik Navratri and Shardiya navratri.
Profesor Shastri Ji stated that Shardiya navratri is more impactful as God listens to wishes of the people and laid emphasis on the significance of nine days of navratri.
The Shardiya Navratri festival is dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine avatars amd today marks the first day of the festivity (Kalash or Ghatsthapna).
The festival is celebrated with much fervour all across the country by Hindus. Devotees from J&K and different parts of the country flocked the Temple atop the Trikuta hills in J&K’s Katra on the first day today.
