Police arrests five LeT hybrid terrorists along with arms and ammunition from Baramulla & Srinagar

SRINAGAR, May 23 : Police arrested five hybrid ‘terrorists” of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition , including 18 pistols, from them in Baramulla and Srinagar districts of Kashmir today.
Police said that they arrested three hhybrid terrorists of LeT involved in the killing of Sarpanch in Goshbug Pattan on April 15.
The SSP of Baramulla , Rayees Ahmed Bhat , said that unknown terrorists on April 15had fired upon one Manzoor Ahmed Bangroo, Sarpanch of Goshbug at Chanderhama orchards in Wusssan area of Pattan.
Immediately after the attack searches were launched and case registered under different sections of law, he said, adding on the basis of various technical and human leads investigation was vigourously persued which led to the apprehension of three suspects by a joint team of police and asarmy.
Interrogation of the suspects revealed a deeper conspiracy involving an older sleeper cell of LeT which was responsible for the grenade attack in Palhallan highway last year.
The accused arrested in that case especially the rpime conspirator Mohd Afzal of Barthipora and Mehrajuddin Dar of GundHajin -Bandipora had already tasked multiple blindsided

sleeper cells to identify and attack specific targets to spread terror and chaos, the SSP said.
Both these have been found involved in various such web of modules and are already under arrest, he added.
SSP further said this particular module had been tasked to identify and attack PRIs and other civilians and soft targets for which pistols and ammunition had been provided to the apprehended hybrid terrorists identified as Noor MOhammad Yatoo, Mphammad Rafiq Parrey and Ashiq Hussain Parrey-all residents of Goshbug , Pattan.
The three terrorists divulged the plot which was directed by LeT terrorist Yusuf Kantru and Hilal Sheikh (killed in Malwah encounter) and Umar Lone (still active and at large, he said.
The SSP said that investigations further led to the recoveries of arms and ammunition and to a larger web of links between various tanzeems and organisations on which investigatio is going on.
Three Chines pistols, three pistol Magzines, two grenades and 32 pistol rounds were recovered, he said, ading that apprehension of the three terrorists and the recovery of arms and another sensational case in Baramulla has foiled a major terror plots planned in the area.
In Srinagar, police claimed today to have arrested two hybrid militants of Let/RFin Chanpora area and recovered arms and ammuntion from them.
They were planning of target killings as 15 pistols were recovered from their possession which are used in hit and run cases, the IGP, Kashmir Vijay kumar said.
These kind of modules will be bustedcontinuously in future too, the top cop added.
Other arms recovered from them included 30 magzines, 300 rounds of pistol ammunition and one silencer.Case has been registered asgainst them and investigations are going on, he said.
