JAMMU / DEHRADUN, Nov 2: Rajesh Kumar Sharma, President of the National Old Pension Restoration United Front (NOPRUF), Jammu & Kashmir, participated today in a massive state-level rally held in Dehradun demanding the immediate restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for NPS-covered employees in Uttarakhand.
The demonstration was organized by the Uttarakhand state unit under the leadership of State President Bikram Singh Rawat and his executive team, under the central guidance of Shri B. P. Singh Rawat, National President of NOPRUF India. Thousands of government employees gathered to voice their collective demand for guaranteed social and post-retirement security.
Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Kumar Sharma reiterated NOPRUF’s core commitment to employee welfare across the nation. He emphasized that the front stands firmly shoulder-to-shoulder with all NPS employees in their fight for justice.
“The demand for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme is the need of the hour,” stated Sharma. “The severe financial insecurities and hardships faced by employees retiring under the National Pension System (NPS) have made it indisputable that market-linked schemes cannot replace a defined pension. A lifetime of dedicated public service warrants dignity and financial stability in old age. NOPRUF will continue its nationwide struggle until OPS is restored for every employee across India.”
The leadership reiterated that the movement in Uttarakhand will serve as a catalyst for employee mobilizations nationwide until the government formally reinstates OPS.
Prominent employee leaders and representatives from Jammu and Kashmir were present in the Rally include Sakoon Manir, General Secretary NOPRUF J&K, Binny Tondon, Provincial President NOPRUF Kashmir, Amit Raina, Nand Kishore, Taresm Singh, Lalit Sharma, Naresh Sharma, Deepak Nargotra, Bushan Kumar, Arun Sharma, Repan Singh, Surjit Kumar, Viky Bhan, Sanjeev Mehra, and others.
