JAMMU, Jun 2: During a press conference organized by Geeta University, Panipat, at the Jammu Press Club, Parvinder Singh from the University’s Admissions and Outreach Department shared detailed information with media representatives regarding the Pragati Scholarship’ and ‘Spot Counseling’ initiatives launched for students from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
Parvinder Singh and Vishal Raina stated that Geeta University is carrying forward the legacy of quality education established by the Geeta Group of Institutions, a tradition dating back to 1985. Currently, the institution has over 8,000 students enrolled, and higher education in various disciplines is being imparted under the guidance of more than 500 experienced faculty members.
He added that, with the objective of making quality higher education accessible to students from border and priority regions, a special ‘Pragati Scholarship’ scheme has been launched specifically for students from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Under this scheme, eligible and meritorious students may be awarded scholarships ranging from 50 percent to 100 percent, based on recommendations from MPs and MLAs, as well as adherence to prescribed eligibility criteria.
Parvinder Singh further informed that ‘Spot Counseling’ programs will be organized to provide guidance to students and parents regarding higher education, career options, the admission process, scholarships, and placement opportunities. As part of this initiative, counseling sessions will be held on June 4 at Hotel Tara in Rajouri; on June 6 at Hotel Bhargav Regency in Samba; and on June 7 at Hotel Fortune Inn Riviera in Jammu.
He emphasized that Geeta University’s primary objective is to provide students with not only quality education but also superior career opportunities. Mindful of the students’ financial circumstances, the university is actively encouraging them to pursue higher education by offering support through scholarships.
During the press conference, media representatives raised various questions regarding the scholarship scheme, the admission process, and employment opportunities, all of which were addressed in detail by Parvinder Singh. He urged students and parents to avail themselves of this opportunity by participating in the upcoming spot counseling sessions.
