Light Rain, Snow likely in parts of Jammu Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Oct 29 (Agencies): Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness predominantly dry weather until November 6, with brief spells of light rain possible at isolated places and light snowfall over higher reaches on October 29, according to the Meteorological Department.

An official of the department said the weather is expected to remain generally dry on October 30 and 31, following the possibility of light precipitation at a few places on Thursday.

Partly cloudy conditions are forecast from November 1 to 3 and are likely to continue from November 4 to 6, with isolated areas potentially receiving brief spells of light rain during the latter period.

The department has not forecast any significant weather activity during these days.

The possibility of light snowfall over higher reaches comes as the region progresses through autumn towards winter. While elevated areas may receive snowfall, the plains could experience rainfall and fluctuations in temperature.

Residents and travellers, particularly those planning to visit higher-altitude areas, have been advised to stay updated on official weather forecasts, as changing conditions could affect travel along mountainous roads.
