Puneet Mahajan felicitates Dr. Harbans Singh, highlights patient welfare and public healthcare priorities

JAMMU, Oct 28: Reaffirming his commitment to public welfare and accessible healthcare, Puneet Mahajan, Convener of the BJP Health and Medical Cell, Jammu and Kashmir, visited the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Bantalab, and felicitated Dr. Harbans Singh, Assistant Director and In-Charge of the institute. During the visit, he held detailed discussions on institutional procedures, patient facilities, healthcare services, and issues affecting the public.

Expressing his sincere gratitude to the doctors, nursing staff, and supporting personnel at RARI Bantalab, Mahajan appreciated their dedication and professional commitment in treating patients from Jammu and Kashmir suffering from piles and other medical conditions. He acknowledged the team’s efforts in providing treatment and support to patients and highlighted the importance of patient counselling, regular medical guidance, and compassionate care throughout the treatment process.

“Healthcare must always remain centred on the patient. The success of a medical institution is reflected not only in the treatment it provides but also in the relief, dignity, and confidence it brings to patients and their families,” Mahajan observed.

Highlighting the Narendra Modi Government’s emphasis on promoting traditional systems of medicine, Mahajan said that Ayurveda and other AYUSH systems have an important place in India’s healthcare framework. He appreciated initiatives aimed at strengthening traditional medical institutions, encouraging research, and expanding public awareness about evidence-based healthcare options.

Mahajan also stressed the need to improve awareness of available Ayurveda healthcare facilities among people in remote and underserved areas of Jammu and Kashmir. He called for sustained public outreach and effective coordination to help citizens access appropriate medical guidance and treatment without unnecessary difficulties.

Reiterating his commitment to public service, Mahajan said that the BJP Health and Medical Cell would continue to raise public healthcare concerns, engage with healthcare institutions, and advocate practical measures to improve patient welfare and strengthen healthcare delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.

Concluding the visit, Mahajan felicitated Dr. Harbans Singh for his leadership and appreciated the entire RARI team for its contribution to patient care. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote accessible, compassionate, and quality healthcare for all.
