JAMMU, Oct 20: Rich Harvest School celebrated the auspicious festival of Dussehra with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour, highlighting the timeless message of the triumph of good over evil.
The celebration highlighted the religious and cultural significance of Dussehra, which commemorates Lord Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana and symbolises the triumph of truth, righteousness and justice over arrogance, greed and evil. The festival also marks Goddess Durga’s victory over Mahishasura, representing the ultimate power of good over negative forces.
The highlight of the celebration was the burning of the effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna, symbolising the destruction of evil and reaffirming faith in truth and righteousness. The event served as a reminder that no matter how powerful evil may appear, goodness and truth ultimately prevail.
Addressing the gathering, Ruchi Charak, Director of Rich Harvest School, shared her thoughts on the significance of Dussehra. She emphasised that the festival is not merely about burning effigies but also about overcoming the negative qualities within ourselves, including ego, anger, greed and dishonesty.
She encouraged everyone to follow the ideals of Lord Rama and strive to become better human beings by practising kindness, discipline, humility and compassion in their daily lives. She also stressed the importance of incorporating moral values into everyday conduct to build a more harmonious and responsible society.
The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold moral values and follow the path of truth, peace and righteousness.
Through such cultural celebrations, Rich Harvest School continues to combine traditional learning with meaningful life lessons, encouraging students to develop strong character and grow into responsible, compassionate and value-driven citizens.
