JAMMU, Oct 17: Vansh Sabre Sports Foundation (VSSF) has urged the Jammu administration practical measures aimed at supporting athletes and creating a more sports-friendly environment across the region.

Dr. Gupta has also proposed free travel for eligible athletes. E-buses operating within the Jammu Municipal Corporation area (within 74 wards)
A valid athlete identity card or another verification mechanism approved by the authorities could be used to establish eligibility. Subject to feasibility and approval by the competent authorities, alternative venues such as Gulshan Ground, BSF Stadium or Army Stadium, Sunjwan could be examined. The aim is to reduce avoidable disruption to athletes, training schedules and maintain access to facilities during key preparation periods.
Recognising the travel demands placed on athletes representing India and the region abroad, Dr. Gupta has requested that suitable assistance be considered for International athletes using Jammu Airport as well as Srinagar Airport. Where permitted by airport policy and security requiraments, this could include access to a VIP Lounge or priority area.
Dr. Kuldeep further said that athleto-focused public arrangements make a meaningful difference-not only by reducing practical barriers current sportspersons, but also by encouraging young people take up sport and pursue excellencs. It has requested the administration to examine the proposals and. where appropriate, them to the relevant departments for further consideration and action.
