“Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne”: Bali Bhagat slams Congress over ‘Soon Ex-PM’ remark

JAMMU, Oct 15: Senior BJP leader and former Minister Bali Bhagat launched a sharp attack on the Congress party over its “soon-to-be ex-PM” remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing the opposition of indulging in wishful thinking, spreading misleading narratives and resorting to political theatrics to regain public attention.

Reacting to Congress leader Sachin Pilot’s statement describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “soon-to-be ex-prime minister” and his demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations of “vote chori,” Bhagat said Congress leaders were living in a world of political fantasy rather than accepting the democratic verdict and political realities of the country.

“Sachin Pilot and the Congress leadership are dreaming of Mungerilal ke haseen sapne. Calling Narendra Modi a ‘soon-to-be ex-PM’ does not make it a reality. Such statements only expose the frustration and desperation of a party that has repeatedly failed to present a convincing political alternative before the people of India,” Bhagat said.

He alleged that Congress had increasingly relied on provocative slogans, dramatic protests and repeated accusations against Prime Minister Modi to remain politically relevant. According to Bhagat, the opposition should focus on public issues, governance and constructive criticism instead of making predictions about the Prime Minister’s political future.

“Congress appears to believe that by repeating allegations against Narendra Modi and organising protests, it can somehow change public opinion overnight. The people of India are politically aware and understand the difference between genuine democratic opposition and a campaign driven by political desperation. Congress cannot befool the country indefinitely with manufactured controversies and sensational statements,” he said.

Commenting on the Congress-led opposition’s demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral irregularities, Bhagat said that allegations concerning elections must be examined through evidence and established constitutional and legal procedures.
