World No-Tobacco Day: Embrace fragrance of divine, not cigarette smoke

JAMMU, May 31: As the world observes World No-Tobacco Day, spiritual guide MAAsterG has called upon people to give up tobacco and embrace a healthier, more meaningful life rooted in self-awareness and spiritual growth.

In a message issued on the occasion, MAAsterG emphasized that despite clear health warnings on tobacco products, millions continue to consume tobacco in various forms, causing serious harm to their bodies and overall well-being. He stressed that the human body is a precious gift and should be treated with care and respect.

Explaining the spiritual significance of the human body, MAAsterG said it is composed of the five elements—earth, water, air, fire and space. According to him, the body functions because of the divine consciousness that resides within it, enabling a person to see, hear, think, feel and experience life.

He urged people to reflect on the contradiction of nurturing the body with harmful substances such as tobacco and cigarette smoke while expecting good health and happiness. Comparing tobacco smoke to pollution, he said that every puff not only affects the smoker but also harms the sacred life force within.

“The Divine resides in every human being. It is this divine presence that gives us life and sustains every function of the body. Yet, many people continue to expose themselves to harmful toxins through tobacco use,” he said.

Drawing a spiritual analogy, MAAsterG described the Divine as patient and compassionate, always waiting for individuals to return to the right path despite their mistakes. He said World No-Tobacco Day serves as an opportunity for self-reflection and positive transformation.

He encouraged people to replace harmful addictions with devotion, meditation and spiritual awareness. According to him, true joy and fulfillment come not from worldly intoxication but from connecting with the Divine and experiencing inner peace.

“Say no to tobacco and yes to life. When the body is free from harmful substances, the mind becomes clearer, health improves and life becomes more meaningful. Fill your life with the fragrance of positivity, devotion and spiritual bliss rather than cigarette smoke,” he said.

MAAsterG further stated that adopting a healthy and spiritually enriched lifestyle can bring lasting happiness and personal transformation. He encouraged individuals to explore self-awareness and inner growth through spiritual teachings and practices.

The message concluded with a call to make World No-Tobacco Day not merely an annual observance but a turning point toward healthier living, greater self-respect and a deeper connection with the Divine.
