JAMMU, May 31: The Jammu Pariyatan Vikas Cooperative Limited (JPVCL) organized a “Women’s Wellness Carnival” at Jhajjar Kotli on Saturday, bringing together women from diverse backgrounds for a day dedicated to health, fitness, mental well-being and personal empowerment.
The event was aimed at promoting holistic wellness among women and creating awareness about the importance of self-care, preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyles. The carnival witnessed enthusiastic participation from healthcare professionals, fitness experts, entrepreneurs, academicians, school principals, community leaders and women achievers from various fields.
A series of engaging and informative activities were organized during the programme, including fitness sessions, yoga and meditation workshops, discussions on hormonal health and mental wellness, digital detoxification activities, “Letter to Myself for Tomorrow’s Me” sessions and interactive wellness engagements such as “Sunshine Brew and Bites.” Participants received valuable insights into stress management, balanced nutrition, emotional well-being and preventive healthcare practices.
Welcoming the guests, Neetu Dhar, Chairperson of Jammu Pariyatan Cooperative Limited, emphasized the importance of prioritizing women’s health and creating supportive environments where women can access authentic health information and wellness resources. She stated that the Women’s Wellness Carnival was conceptualized to champion holistic well-being and provide a nurturing platform focused on fitness, mental health and personal growth.
Prof. Suvidha Khanna, Event Advisor, highlighted the significance of such initiatives, noting that women today often face immense mental stress and emotional challenges. She said that wellness events provide an important opportunity for women to focus on themselves, engage in meaningful discussions and seek guidance on issues such as work-life balance, healthy ageing and mental health.
The meditation session was conducted by volunteers from the Isha Foundation, including Dr. Siya Malhotra, Abhishek Bhardwaj, Sonakshi Channa and Ishan Bhat. The volunteers guided participants through meditation practices aimed at enhancing mindfulness and inner well-being. The Yoga and Hormonal Health Session was led by Ms. Shriya Sharma, an instructor from the Yoga Institute, Mumbai, who shared practical techniques for maintaining physical fitness and hormonal balance.
The event successfully fostered awareness about the importance of wellness, self-care and preventive healthcare while encouraging women to take proactive steps towards healthier and more balanced lives.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Poonam Sharma, Director, JPVCL, while the proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Nidhi Pathania, Event Coordinator, JPVCL. The programme concluded with participants expressing appreciation for the initiative and its focus on empowering women through health, knowledge and community engagement.
