MARHEEN, Oct 13: The Newsletter/Magazine Committee and IQAC of Government Degree College (GDC), Marheen, released the much-anticipated Third Edition of the college newsletter, “Marheen Bytes.”
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the recitation of Saraswati Vandana. The formal welcome address was delivered by the Worthy Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta.
She appreciated the hard work and dedication of all the staff members involved in compiling the newsletter. She also acknowledged and valued the contribution of the students, emphasizing that the publication would not have been possible without their active participation in the various activities organized by the college.
The occasion was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Slathia, Principal (Retd.), Higher Education Department, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. (Dr.) Pragya Khanna, Principal, GLDM Hiranagar, as the Guest of Honour.
In their address, the Chief Guest and guest of honor highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of the faculty members in bringing out the newsletter. They also congratulated the Principal and the entire college fraternity on this achievement.
Moreover, on the occasion, Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Slathia, Principal (Retd.), Higher Education Department also donated 67 books of the subject Economics to the college library. Furthermore, Prof. Anoop Sharma (Editor-I and Convener, IQAC) and Dr. Munisha Devi (Editor-II, Newsletter) highlighted the key features and contents of the newsletter and provided a brief introduction to Marheen Bytes.
They acknowledged that the newsletter was brought out under the guidance and leadership of the Principal of the College. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof. Manu Saini, while the cultural items were coordinated by Dr. Shallu Rani.
The faculty members present on the occasion included Dr. Arun Dev Singh, Dr. Reemi, Prof. Suman, and Prof. Diksha. The students of the college also participated actively and enthusiastically in the programme.
The formal vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Balbinder Singh, Convener, Newsletter/Magazine Committee, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Principal, faculty members, students, and everyone who contributed to the successful release of the third edition of Marheen Bytes.
