Congress Party has crossed all limits of political decency, responsibility: Rohiin Chandan

JAMMU, Oct 7: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rohiin Chandan today launched a sharp and unequivocal attack on Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, calling upon him to immediately put an end to what he described as the “daily drama” being staged by the Congress party and its allies. The remarks come in the wake of INDIA bloc MPs marching to the Election Commission of India headquarters in Delhi on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

Issuing a press note, Chandan said the repeated targeting of constitutional institutions by Rahul Gandhi and his associates has crossed all limits of political decency and responsibility. “It is time to put an end to the daily drama orchestrated by the Congress party—specifically Rahul Gandhi and his associates—who constantly attack institutions like the Election Commission and the Supreme Court. This drama has been ongoing since 2014; how long will it continue?” Chandan asked.

He emphasized that the continuous assault on the credibility of independent institutions serves no constructive purpose. “Rahul Gandhi’s constant attacks on the institutions will neither benefit democracy nor lead to the revival of the Congress Party,” Chandan stated firmly. He asserted that democracy thrives on healthy debate and constructive criticism, not on systematic attempts to undermine the very pillars that uphold the democratic framework of the nation.

Chandan further urged Rahul Gandhi to draw inspiration from the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and the disciplined, dedicated cadre of the BJP. “Instead of indulging in perpetual negativity and institutional bashing, Rahul Gandhi should learn from the exemplary work ethic, nation-first approach, and constant dedication to democratic values demonstrated by Prime Minister Modi and BJP workers across the country,” he said.

He pointed out that while the people of India have repeatedly given their mandate to the BJP-led NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the Congress leadership continues to remain trapped in a cycle of protest politics and institutional confrontation. He noted that such tactics may generate temporary media attention but ultimately erode public trust and fail to address the real issues facing the nation.

Chandan reminded us that the Election Commission of India and the Supreme Court are constitutional bodies that have time and again upheld the principles of free and fair elections and the rule of law. Any attempt to cast aspersions on their functioning, he said, amounts to an attack on the democratic process itself. “Those who claim to be champions of democracy must first learn to respect the institutions that safeguard democracy,” he concluded.
