PANCHARI, Oct 2: Himalayan Public High School, Meer, Panchari, celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri with great reverence, enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The programme was attended by School Chairman Rajinder Singh Katoch, Principal Hem Raj, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students of the school.
The programme commenced with floral tributes and garlanding of the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
On the occasion, the participants remembered the invaluable contributions and ideals of the two great national leaders. Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of truth, non-violence, peace and cleanliness, and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s values of simplicity, honesty, discipline, dedication and patriotism were highlighted.
As part of the celebration, a cleanliness drive was also conducted in and around the school premises. Students, teachers and staff actively participated in the drive and cleaned the surrounding areas, spreading the message of cleanliness, civic responsibility and environmental awareness. The activity was organised in the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and healthy India.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Rajinder Singh Katoch encouraged the students to draw inspiration from the lives and teachings of these great personalities and to become responsible, disciplined and dedicated citizens of the nation.
Principal Hem Raj also spoke on the occasion and emphasized that the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri continue to inspire generations. He urged the students to follow the values of truth, hard work, cleanliness, discipline and service to the nation in their daily lives.
The students and staff actively participated in the celebration and paid their heartfelt tribute to the two great leaders. The programme concluded with a message of peace, unity, patriotism, cleanliness and commitment towards building a better nation.
