Abdul Quddir Kundria appeals for constructive discussions on public issues in J&K Assembly

JAMMU, Sep 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is an important institution of public representation, where people expect their elected representatives to address issues concerning the development of their areas, basic amenities and public welfare. In such a situation, instead of unnecessary uproar and disagreements inside the Assembly, greater focus should be placed on public issues and developmental matters.

This was stated by noted social worker, writer and poet Abdul Quddir Kundria in a press statement. He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are looking forward to development, prosperity, better educational facilities, roads, healthcare and other basic amenities in their respective areas. People have elected their representatives with the hope that they will effectively raise their concerns and issues in the Assembly.

Abdul Quddir Kundria said that the Assembly is a forum where serious discussions should be held on public projects, developmental works and policy matters, with time and energy devoted towards finding solutions and taking these issues to their logical conclusion. If Assembly proceedings are consumed by unnecessary disputes and disruptions, it directly affects public interest.

He said that several areas still require new colleges, while there is also a need for upgradation of schools and improvement of basic infrastructure and essential services. These issues require serious discussion and concrete action in the Assembly, rather than situations in which public concerns are pushed to the background.

He appealed to all the Members of the Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir to utilise the valuable time of the House for addressing public concerns and to give special attention to the development and welfare of their respective constituencies.

Abdul Quddir Kundria said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir want development, prosperity, better facilities and a peaceful environment. The hopes and expectations of the people are attached to their elected representatives. Therefore, it is important that public interest remains the foremost priority in the Assembly and that the elected representatives play a serious, constructive and result-oriented role in the development of the region.
