Jasrota sees a wave of development as Jasrotia launches projects worth Rs 6.10 Cr

JASROTA, Sep 18: Development activity gained further momentum in the Jasrota Assembly constituency on Friday as BJP MLA Rajiv Jasrotia inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a series of development projects covering healthcare, road connectivity, electricity and drinking-water infrastructure. The projects, spread across Dinga Amb, Sanyal, Kooper, Dabbi and Khairi, involve an estimated investment of Rs 6.10 crore and are aimed at addressing long-standing infrastructure gaps and improving essential services for residents.

Addressing the people during the programme, Jasrotia said the objective of the projects was not merely to create physical infrastructure but to bring tangible improvements to the daily lives of residents. He said improved roads would reduce travel difficulties, strengthen access to markets, schools and healthcare facilities and contribute to local economic activity, while upgraded power and water infrastructure would improve the reliability of essential services.

The MLA said development must reach every habitation, particularly villages that have remained underserved in terms of basic infrastructure. He said the projects being taken up across the constituency were based on local requirements and were intended to strengthen essential facilities at the grassroots level.

At Dinga Amb, Jasrotia laid the foundation stone for the upgradation of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at an estimated cost of Rs 55 lakh. He said the project would strengthen healthcare infrastructure for residents of Dinga Amb and adjoining areas and reduce the need for people to travel long distances for basic medical services.

He also inaugurated the Dinga Amb Bazaar Link Road, completed at a cost of around Rs 40 lakh. The MLA said the improved connectivity would benefit residents, traders and commuters by providing smoother access to the market and surrounding areas. He noted that better road connectivity also facilitates the movement of agricultural produce and goods and improves access to essential services.

At Sanyal, Jasrotia inaugurated a new transformer costing Rs 6 lakh. He said the additional power infrastructure would help address local electricity requirements and strengthen the supply network. Reliable electricity, he added, was important for households, shops, educational activities and small businesses.

The MLA also inaugurated the Galman to Kouli Kooper Road, constructed at an estimated cost of ₹55 lakh. He said the road would improve inter-village connectivity and facilitate the movement of students, workers, farmers and patients travelling to nearby towns and healthcare facilities.

At Village Kooper, Jasrotia inaugurated another new transformer costing Rs 5 lakh. He said the project would strengthen the local electricity network and help meet the growing power requirements of households and economic activities in the area.

At Dabbi, he inaugurated a new pump set and allied works at the PHE station, completed at a cost of approximately Rs 8.50 lakh. He said the project would strengthen the local drinking-water supply mechanism and improve the functioning of the Public Health Engineering system for communities dependent on the station.

At Khairi, Jasrotia inaugurated the Mohalla Chain Singh Road, constructed at a cost of around ₹35 lakh. He said improved internal connectivity would make daily movement easier for residents and provide better access to essential services.

The major road initiative of the day was the foundation stone for a Rs 4-crore NABARD-funded road project for Village Khairi. Highlighting the importance of the project, Jasrotia said residents had been seeking proper road connectivity for decades and described the commencement of the project as an important step towards addressing their demand.

He said the road would improve access to education, healthcare, markets and employment opportunities, besides facilitating the movement of agricultural produce and other goods. He emphasised that reliable connectivity is an important component of rural development and can help villages access wider economic and social opportunities.

Jasrotia also inaugurated a new borewell at Village Khairi, constructed at a cost of approximately ₹5.50 lakh. He said the project would supplement existing water resources and help address the drinking-water requirements of local residents.

The MLA later held a public interaction with residents, during which people raised issues concerning roads, electricity, water supply and other civic and developmental matters. Officials from different departments were present during the interaction.

Jasrotia listened to the grievances and directed the concerned departments to take appropriate action within the prescribed framework. Some issues were addressed on the spot, while directions were issued for examination and follow-up action on other matters.

He said direct interaction with residents was important for ensuring that development planning reflected the actual requirements of people at the grassroots level. “The purpose of every project is to make life easier for the people,” he said, stressing the need for public representatives and government departments to remain accessible and responsive to local concerns.

Jasrotia said the development programme in the constituency would continue with focus on roads, healthcare, electricity, drinking water and other basic amenities, adding that areas which have remained underserved would receive due attention.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were Mandal Pardhan Deepak Sharma, Sarpanch Kuldeep Gupta, Gandharb Singh, Sonu, Mangal Singh, Balkar Singh, Akash, Surinder, Bhajan Singh, Samar Singh, Ravi Abrol, Panch Prem, Kuldeep, Pankaj, Sagar Singh and Makhan, besides BJP workers and a large number of local residents.
