BJP Industries Cell observes PM Modi’s Birthday as ‘Swachh Bharat Sankalp Diwas’

JAMMU, Sep 16: The Industries Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu and Kashmir, observed the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “Swachh Bharat Sankalp Diwas” by organising a cleanliness drive at the Digiana Industrial Estate.

As part of the initiative, accumulated waste and blockages from drains in the industrial estate were cleared with the help of machinery. The drive also addressed a long-standing demand of the local industrial community and aimed to improve sanitation, facilitate the smooth flow of wastewater and provide a cleaner and healthier working environment for industrial workers, entrepreneurs and visitors.

The cleanliness campaign was initiated by Sanjay Chopra, Senior Vice-President, Digiana Industrial Estate Association and State Executive Member, BJP Industries Cell, J&K, along with Subash Goswami and Chetan Suri, Treasurer, in the presence of Adv. Deepak Gupta, State Convener, BJP Industries Cell, J&K.

Speaking on the occasion, Adv. Deepak Gupta said that cleanliness should be treated as a collective civic responsibility. He emphasised that maintaining clean industrial estates is important for workers’ health, environmental protection and sustainable industrial development.

“Swachh Bharat is not merely a slogan; it is our collective civic responsibility. Clean industrial estates are essential for workers’ health, environmental protection and sustainable industrial growth. Every citizen, industrial unit and association should contribute actively towards keeping their surroundings clean,” he said.

Gupta added that observing Swachh Bharat Sankalp Diwas was an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to cleanliness through grassroots-level action. He said the BJP Industries Cell would continue to raise issues related to sanitation, infrastructure and working conditions in industrial estates across Jammu and Kashmir.

The participants also appealed to citizens to make cleanliness a daily habit, avoid dumping waste in public places and drains, and actively participate in community cleanliness initiatives.

They further called upon industrialists, workers, traders and citizens to work collectively towards cleaner surroundings and sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
