JAMMU, Sep 14: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu (JU), on Monday commenced the Inter-Collegiate Kho-Kho (Men) Tournament for the session 2026–2027 at the Kho-Kho Court, JU. The tournament is witnessing enthusiastic participation from Kho-Kho teams representing various affiliated colleges of the University.
The opening day witnessed spirited and competitive encounters, with the participating teams demonstrating remarkable speed, agility, coordination, tactical awareness, endurance and determination. The players displayed excellent teamwork and competitive spirit throughout the matches while upholding the values of discipline, sportsmanship and fair play.
The tournament provides an important platform for the talented sportspersons of the affiliated colleges to showcase their skills, gain competitive exposure and nurture the spirit of healthy competition. The matches on the opening day generated considerable enthusiasm among the players and officials and set an encouraging tone for the remaining fixtures.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. His continued leadership and encouragement have played a significant role in strengthening the sporting culture of the University and promoting sports participation, competitive excellence and overall development of students across its affiliated colleges.
Results: GDC Rajouri defeated GDC Udhampur by 02 points, with a final score of 10–08; GDC Doda defeated GDC Samba by 04 points, with a final score of 14–10; and GDC Reasi defeated UIET Kathua by 10 points, with a final score of 20–10.
The matches were officiated by Anil Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Dheeraj Sharma, Palbinder Singh, Pooja Sharma, Yogesh Kumar, Jagdave Singh and Gagan Kumar.
