DODA, Sep 12: Senior Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader and Spokesperson for the Chenab Valley Region Ajeet Bhagat has accused the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to fulfil promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly regarding restoration of statehood, constitutional safeguards and employment opportunities for youth.
Bhagat said that several commitments made by the Prime Minister to the people of J&K, including assurances given before the Supreme Court, were yet to be fulfilled. He said the people were awaiting the restoration of statehood and constitutional guarantees, along with measures to protect the interests and future of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The National Conference leader said the concerns were not limited to constitutional issues but also included statehood, reservation and employment opportunities for the youth. He described unemployment as a serious challenge and urged the Union Government to take immediate and concrete steps to address the growing concerns of unemployed youth instead of relying on what he termed “empty rhetoric”.
Bhagat also questioned the delay in the pending file concerning the rationalisation of vacancies, saying that the issue needed to be resolved at the earliest to create more employment opportunities for unemployed youth. He stressed that employment-related matters should receive priority and be addressed through a transparent and time-bound process.
He said the aspirations of thousands of young people in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be ignored and called upon the government to take meaningful measures to address unemployment and provide better opportunities to the youth.
Bhagat reiterated that the National Conference has consistently stood for the rights and interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the aspirations and concerns of unemployed youth, and would continue to raise these issues before the government and the public.
