JAMMU, Sep 3: MLA Bahu, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today inaugurated lane and drain work worth Rs 14 lakh and kick-started drain work amounting to Rs 27.93 lakh in Ward No. 48, Gorkha Nagar, fulfilling the long-pending demands of the local residents.
The programmes were attended by Bahu Mandal President Surjeet Singh along with his team, besides a large gathering of residents of Gorkha Nagar. The concerned JE and contractor were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch. Vikram Randhawa said that these projects were long-pending demands of the people and their commencement would provide much-needed relief to the residents. He reiterated that strengthening basic civic infrastructure and addressing public grievances remains a key priority.
The MLA directed the concerned officials and contractor to ensure that the works are executed with the highest quality standards and within the stipulated timeframe, stressing that no compromise on quality would be tolerated.
Ch. Randhawa also appreciated the contractor for taking up the work and urged the executing team to ensure proper workmanship and timely completion.
The residents of Gorkha Nagar expressed their gratitude to Ch. Vikram Randhawa for taking up their long-pending demands and initiating the much-needed development works in the area. They thanked the MLA for his prompt intervention and continued focus on improving basic infrastructure.
Ch. Randhawa reiterated his commitment to ensuring planned, equitable and people-centric development across Bahu Constituency.
