DODA, Sep 2: Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Vinod Sharma, on Wednesday convened a review meeting at his office to assess the progress and implementation of the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) in District Doda.
The meeting was attended by RBSK Teams from Blocks Assar, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Ghat and Thathri, besides DM&EO NHM Doda, Chander K. Shan.
The meeting focused on reviewing the performance of RBSK teams and strengthening the implementation of the programme, which aims at early identification, screening, treatment and timely intervention for children from birth to 18 years of age.
During the meeting, the CMO reviewed the component wise progress of the programme, including child health screening, identification of health conditions, referrals, follow-up and treatment of identified cases. The participants also deliberated upon the achievements, challenges and gaps affecting effective implementation of the programme across the district.
Dr. Vinod Sharma emphasized the importance of regular and comprehensive screening of children as per the protocols and guidelines prescribed by the GOI. He directed the RBSK teams to ensure timely identification of health conditions and appropriate referral and management of children requiring further care.
The CMO directed the concerned teams to prepare comprehensive micro plans for regular visits to schools and Anganwadi Centres, ensuring complete coverage of eligible beneficiaries and proper documentation of all screening activities.
The CMO laid special emphasis on improving case detection, observing that the progress achieved under this component was comparatively low. He directed the RBSK teams to intensify screening activities, ensure comprehensive coverage of children and proactively identify more cases for timely referral, treatment and follow-up.
Dr. Vinod Sharma also reviewed the implementation of the Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) Programme and stressed upon the RBSK teams to conduct Hemoglobin (Hb) screening among all eligible children during school and Anganwadi visits. He directed the teams to ensure timely identification of children with anemia, proper recording of screening results, counselling, appropriate management and follow-up of identified cases as per the prescribed guidelines.
The CMO called upon all concerned officials and RBSK teams to work in close coordination and adopt a proactive approach towards early detection, referral and timely management of health conditions among children, thereby ensuring effective implementation of RBSK and related child health interventions at the grassroots level.
