Talla Jewellers promote drug-free future through school awareness drive

JAMMU, Sep 1: Talla Jewellers, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, is implementing the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign under Project MAKE (Make All Kids Educated) to create awareness among school students about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse. The initiative is being carried out by Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation (LFO-BHF) across Jammu and Udhampur districts with the support of the District Administration and education authorities.

As part of the campaign, LFO-BHF organised drug awareness programmes at Government High School, Deeli, Channi; SD Tara Puri Public High School; and Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra Higher Secondary School, Domana, all in Jammu district. Ms. Stuti Abrol, General Secretary, Jammu Province, LFO-BHF, was the speaker and sensitised students about the physical, mental, educational and social consequences of drug abuse. She encouraged students to stay away from harmful substances and focus on education, sports, healthy habits and positive activities.

The awareness sessions collectively reached 1028 students. As part of the educational support component of Project MAKE, 52 educational kits were distributed among deserving students, including 17 kits at GHS Deeli, Channi, 15 kits at SD Tara Puri Public High School, and 20 kits at Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra Higher Secondary School, Domana.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhinandan Sharma, senior member, LFO-BHF emphasised that awareness and education among young students are key to preventing substance abuse. She urged students to make responsible choices and seek guidance from parents and teachers whenever needed.

The programmes were successfully conducted with the collective support of LFO-BHF members and volunteers, including Abhishek Gupta, Vidit, Muskaan, Radhika, Kashish and other volunteers.
