SRINAGAR, Aug 26: Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited (KNPL) has launched “Noor-e-Kashmir”, a new digital series celebrating the distinctive character of Kashmiri homes, their architecture, colours, craftsmanship and the people who bring these spaces to life.
The initiative highlights the idea that beyond Kashmir’s breathtaking landscapes lies another expression of its beauty — its homes. Rooted in tradition, shaped by local craftsmanship and influenced by contemporary design, Kashmiri homes reflect the region’s unique cultural and aesthetic identity.
The digital series will feature 12 homes across Kashmir, each selected for its individuality, architectural character, aesthetic sensibilities and relationship with nature and colour. The homes have been shortlisted in collaboration with a renowned Kashmir-based architect.
Noor-e-Kashmir goes beyond showcasing finished interiors and exteriors. The series will highlight the choices made by homeowners, the expertise of dealers, the craftsmanship of contractors and the wider local ecosystem involved in creating each home.
Pravin Chaudhari, Managing Director, Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited, said Kashmir is an important market for the company, with distinctive consumer preferences and a strong appreciation for colour, design and craftsmanship.
“Noor-e-Kashmir reflects our understanding of the market and our commitment to strengthening connections with consumers, our dealer and contractor network in the region, while celebrating the distinctive character of Kashmiri homes. With Noor-e-Kashmir, we aim to give a tribute to Kashmir, its people, homes and the craftsmanship behind it,” he said.
The episodes will be released through Kansai Nerolac’s owned digital platforms, led by YouTube, and will also be amplified through the company’s social media channels. Each episode will focus on an individual home while bringing the people behind its creation into the spotlight.
The homes featured in the series have been painted using Nerolac Impressions Kashmir for interiors, Excel Everlast for exteriors, and the Gloria and ICRO ranges for wood finishes.
A special segment in every episode will also recognise the contribution of contractors involved in the projects. These contractors will be designated as ‘Noor-e-Kashmir Contractors’ and will receive badges and certificates acknowledging their contribution, along with recognition across social media platforms.
Ramkrishna Naik, Chief Marketing Officer, Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited, said the initiative celebrates not only distinctive Kashmiri homes but also the people and craftsmanship behind them.
“Through this digital series, we want to bring forward the choices, stories and craftsmanship that give each home its unique character. For us, paint has never been just about what you put on a wall, but about how that colour energises the space and people who live within it,” he said.
The stories showcased through Noor-e-Kashmir will culminate in a special ‘Noor-e-Kashmir Colour Book’, bringing together the 12 homes featured in the series. The book will highlight their colours, architectural details and design choices, providing consumers with inspiration for their own spaces.
Through the initiative, Kansai Nerolac aims to celebrate Kashmir’s distinctive architectural identity while recognising the homeowners, contractors, dealers and craftsmen who contribute to creating its unique living spaces.
