Inter-Zone District-Level Sports Competition for U-19 boys concludes

KATHUA, Aug 22: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Kathua, organised the Inter-Zone District-Level Sports Competition for Under-19 Boys with enthusiasm and sporting spirit. Teams from different zones of District Kathua participated in various disciplines and displayed excellent skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

In Football, Zone Lakhanpur emerged as the winner, while Zone Kathua secured the runner-up position. In Volleyball, Zone Malhar clinched the winner’s trophy, with Zone Sallan finishing as runner-up.

In Badminton, Zone Kathua secured the top position, while Zone Lakhanpur finished as runner-up. In Kabaddi, Zone Hiranagar emerged victorious, defeating Zone Kathua, which secured the runner-up position. In Kho-Kho, Zone Kathua won the competition, while Zone Hiranagar finished as runner-up.

The competition provided a valuable platform for young sportspersons to showcase their talent, competitive abilities and sporting skills. The winning teams and outstanding players will further represent District Kathua at the next level of competition as per the departmental programme.

At the conclusion of the competition, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kathua, Sunil Kumar, presented the winners’ and runners-up trophies to the respective teams. He congratulated the players for their commendable performances and appreciated their enthusiasm and dedication. He encouraged the young sportspersons to continue working hard and strive for excellence in their respective disciplines.

The event was conducted under the overall guidance of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu & Kashmir, and the supervision of the District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kathua. The officials, technical staff, coaches and participating teams were appreciated for their efforts in ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the competition.
